Boxee Browser Webkit + HTML5

We provided consulting and development services for Boxee which allowed them to switch their integrated web browser from Mozilla's Gecko to Webkit. Amongst the long list of benefits from this move there's support for now-popular HTML5 features.

An initial workshop where we covered and analyzed Webkit's relevance to Boxee's platform gave Boxee's engineering leads the confidence that the shift to WebKit is feasible and worth the effort. We then started working on Webkit's various integration points so they could fit Boxee's requirements and APIs. This was done for all of Boxee's supported platforms (Windows, Mac OSX, Linux and Embedded-Linux [The Boxee Box]). Boxee R&D then moved forward with integrating our project and completed a successful move to WebKit.
