Thank you for installing Wonder Frog,
Wonder Frog automagically solves all of your multi-lingual typing glitches.
Magic: When you happen to type 'akuo' instead of 'שלום' or 'thnprxhubhxyhho' when you actually meant 'אימפרסיוניסטיים', Wonder Frog has you covered. Don't even bother thinking about it. When you want to put a Hebrew word into an English sentence, there's no need to ALT+SHIFT because Wonder Frog figures it all out for you.
The Wonder Button: There's only one button that you'll ever need when working with Wonder Frog, we like to call it the Wonder Button F2 by default. If you'd like to undo something Wonder Frog did just press the Wonder button. If more than one conversion-option exists, the Wonder Button can help you scroll through them.
Additional Options: Right-Clicking Wonder Frog's system-tray Icon allows you to choose from a variety of sound-effects which will sound-off each time Wonder Frog magic occurs. You can also change settings for the Wonder Button and Auto-Updates.
To disable/enable Wonder Frog, left-click the frog on the system-tray.
It's good to know that...
- Wonder-Frog works in a global-scope, it sucessfully fixes words in 99% of Windows applications.
- Words in CAPITAL LETTERS are ignored and left alone.
- Applications like Visual-Studio, Komodo and others are left alone entirely.
- There are roughly 684 dual Hebrew-English words, dual means they are represented using the same set of physical keys on the keyboard (e.g. 'do' <-> 'גם', 'neck' <-> 'מקבל').
When one of these words comes along, our Lloyd Wonder-Engine applies a special algorithm to figure out what you meant. Every once in a while, you may outsmart him.
Known Issues
- Ending a bogus word with ENTER inside an instant-messenger window will cause the fixed word to appear on a new line.
- Due to a bug in XUL, Wonder Frog operates in a 'Mozilla Compatibility' Mode under FireFox/Thunderbird/Sunbird, this should work well but be advised.
- Incredimail isn't supportive of Wonder-Frog's Hebrew to English flipping (writing 'יקךךם' and getting 'hello').
- Combining a slow computer with a slow application (e.g. Old-Laptop with MS-Word) can cause a character to be missed every once in a while.
Build 783
Thanks to all the great feedback we got, here's what we've cooked up for this version:
- Wonder Frog will no longer 'just stop working'.
- Wonder Frog now recognizes hebrew names and a bunch of other new words.
- Backspacing over a fipped word will undo the flipping action.
- The 'disable-sound' preference is now saved between sessions.
- Ending a word with !, ? or any SHIFT+something character works well.
- Firefox/Thunderbird compatibility mode greatly impoved.
- Lots of small bugs fixes.
